Agriculture stands as the backbone of Mozambique’s economy, contributing nearly 25% of the country’s GDP and providing jobs for more than two-thirds of the population, according to World Bank data. Despite its vital role, most farmers remain outside the reach of formal financial services—including insurance—leaving them especially vulnerable to climate shocks, crop failures, and market volatility. In a bid to close this financing and protection gap, the International Finance Corporation (IFC) has partnered with AMS – Associação Moçambicana de Seguradoras, Mozambique’s national association of
